Today I share with you an easy weight loss hack and a creamy mushroom pasta recipe that is starch solution friendly and gluten free. The weight loss hack is not only for weight loss but for anything in your life where you feel stuck. It only takes 5 seconds and in fact it is called The 5 second rule which I heard about from @melrobbins I have linked a short video on this little hack and I hope it helps you as much as it has helped me. I will also be sharing a creamy mushroom pasta that was inspired by @thehappypear .

Here is the recipe for the creamy mushroom pasta
Ingredients:
8 ounces of pasta of your choice I used red lentil pasta
1 small red onion sliced
2 cloves garlic
8 ounces of mushrooms of your choice sliced
juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp oregano
veggie broth for sauteing
1/4 cup raw cashews
2 cups unsweetened plant milk I used soy
chopped parsley for garnish
red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions:
Cook pasta to package directions do not drain.
While pasta is cooking heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add onions and garlic and cook for 5 minutes until you get some color on the onions. Add veggie broth as needed to keep onions and garlic from sticking.
Next add mushrooms and let cook down for 5 minutes adding broth as needed. While mushrooms are cooking make your cream sauce by combining, cashews, milk, lemon juice, garlic powder and salt and blend till smooth in a high speed blender. Once mushrooms have cooked down add cream sauce and add the pasta direct from the cooking pot making sure to get some of that pasta water in there, maybe a 1/4 cup or so. Season with oregano and add parsley and red pepper flakes. Serve with a side of green veggies.
